HAPPY JULY 4TH, AS AMERICA CELEBRATES ITS 250TH BIRTHDAY
THERE will be all kinds of celebrations, for the nation that started as 13 different colonies, with slightly different
populations and religious traditions, laws, etc. It grew to become a world power, the richest on earth, the freest of the
great powers, where few starve, and a large proportion of the population lives comfortably.
This weekend, everywhere celebrations, and on July 5, America plays Belgium in the World Cup.
In another country the question of freedom may be on trial also this July 4 and 5. In Germany, it's largest
political party according to polls, the Alternative for Germany party, will hold a convention in Erfurt. An NGO,
allegedly funded by George Soros, may be sponsoring thousands of protestors to travel to the town of about 200,000
to disrupt the proceedings. The major government parties, CDU/CSU and SPD, moderate conservatives and mild social
democrats keep losing voters as they led Germany into Green policies that killed much of its industry, and are now seeking
to expand the military to provide jobs, while continuing the welfare state for millions of immigrants, many of whose
children know little German. Will some 70,000 Soros type protestors succeed in disrupting the AfD convention on July
4-5? Or will freedom of speech and assembly be allowed for a political party the "respectables' dislike. The AfD is
like the Trump party of Germany. No wonder the Soros crowd hates it. I hope we, and the Germans can celebrate this
July 4 and July 5. Hugh Murray

TRUMP VS THE DISRUPTORS OF DEMOCRACY
by HUGH MURRAY
I heard the
last few remarks by Cokie Roberts on National Public Radio this morning telling
the NPR audience how bad it is for America internally and around the world to
have images of these violent protests at Trump rallies, and, being a good
liberal, blaming Trump for the violence.
On the leftist cable network, MSNBC, one commentator (perhaps Rachel
Madow) blamed Trump for the Friday night troubles in Chicago because he had
booked his rally at the University of Chicago.
Why there? She assured viewers
that that is not a Republican area, there are no Republicans there, and there
has not been a Republican rally in that area that she could recall. Just booking the Trump rally in that location
was a provocation. Therefore, Trump was
causing trouble. One TV reporter interviewed
a Black who summarized that belief, “Trump does not belong here (in Chicago).”
Trump is an
American citizen, the leading candidate of a major political party running for
President of the USA. He has the right
to visit and speak in any American city.
Chicago is also home to thousands of illegal aliens, invaders of the US,
but the Democrats proclaim they have a right to be in Chicago or anywhere else
in the US.
For
decades, many universities have become enclaves where conservatives are denied
the right to express their opinions.
True, in the 1950s and 60s, Communists were barred from teaching and
often even appearing on campus as an invited speaker. The Free Speech Movement at Berkeley in
California led to an easing of restrictions, and the Left was permitted to have
tables to display, give away and sell, material in support of the SNCC, CORE,
and other civil rights organizations, and other causes. But in the 60s, new restrictions on speech
began to appear. When Nobel Prize winner
William Shockley asserted there were racial differences in intelligence, he was
shouted off the stage, and Hans Eysenck, a distinguished psychologist, whose
research demonstrated racial differences, he was punched in the face when he
addressed a university audience in Australia.
As universities sought to increase Black student enrollment, often
through affirmative action (admitting lesser and unqualified students), these
students often became the foot soldiers to enforce left-wing conformity on
campus. By the 1990s, even a prominent
Black advocate of equal opportunity and the end of affirmative action was
shouted down and not permitted to speak at the U. of Wisconsin, Madison, and he
had similar shut-downs at other campuses.
The Left demands a veto on what is said on campus.
Bottom
line, the Left, which often controls universities, does NOT believe in free
speech. The left wing “Free Speech Movement”
was an example of bait and switch. They
wanted free speech for their groups; but once they had that, they sought to
suppress those who disagreed with them.
And they have done so. Even
hiring faculty in the softer areas usually requires a Left wing certificate of
approval. Some of the lesser colleges
require you write an essay on “diversity” as part of your application. Today’s universities solve the denial of free
speech with finesses – hate speech is not free speech. If you oppose the invasion of America by
millions of the “undocumented,” you are
condemned as a hater. No speech for
you. Of course, in the past, if you
supported invasion of the US, you were guilty of treason. (And you still are). But that too is now considered hateful, and
the university does not want that heard.
So Trump
hired a hall at the University of Chicago.
And the far-left wing millionaire, George Soros, with one of his many
front-groups apparently helped organize the anti-Trump “protestors” in
Chicago. Several months ago out West
Socialist Bernie Sanders had a rally aimed at the elderly, where he might
present his message. He was interrupted,
and 2 bullying members of Black Lives Matter demanded the mike. Sanders yielded the microphone – and his
rally – to the BLM bullies! If he cannot
control his own rally, how will he be able to control the office of the
Presidency? The elderly had gone to hear
Bernie on issues of the aged. Instead,
they heard from the anti-white (a group that rejects All Lives Matter)
BLM. Typical Left-wing bait and
switch. Shortly after, Trump announced
he would not allow BLM to take over his rallies.
The Left
wants to take over all rallies. They
took over the Bernie Sanders rally. They
have interrupted Hillary Clinton at her rally.
Bernie appeased them. Hillary
appeased them. Why appease these
anti-white, pro-crime organizations?
Trump refuses to yield. His
supporters have fought back. That is a “crime”
to the Left, perhaps the only crime according to the Left. Furthermore, there may be some protestors,
but many are at Trump rallies to disrupt, opstruct, and prevent him from being
heard. They are disrupters, trying to
prevent a major candidate for President from being heard. They are trying to destroy the democratic
process by denying people from hearing a major candidate.
Naturally,
one expects the Kokie Roberts (daughter of 2 Congresspersons, both Democrats)
to attack Trump and defend the protestors. One expects similar analysis from Left wing
MSNBC, New York Times, WaPo, etc. Sadly,
however, other Republican candidates have attacked Trump for causing the
trouble – Rubio, Kasich, and to some extent Cruz. They utterly miss the point. If Trump were to drop out of the running
tomorrow, the Soros-funded Left-wing anarchists, communists, BLM, OWS, would
suddenly try to shut down Cruz, then Rubio, then Kasich. Soros is a convicted criminal in France. He is accused of overthrowing various
governments around the world with his NGOs.
He seeks to prevent Americans from choosing out President in a
democratic manner.
One hopes
Trump will never yield to these thugs.

Pat Buchanan on Subversion by NGOs
Pat Buchanan has another most interesting article posted on vdare. Non-Governmental Organizations have rightly drawn the suspicion of various nations. In the US, millionaire George Soros has funded numerous left-wing groups, as have once respectable foundations (see the book by Horowitz on his expose of the Ford Foundation and others with names implying they are above controversy). Some NGOs do improve conditions; some are just political action groups to mobilize unofficial militias. Buchanan recounts reasons to be skeptical of the NGOs.----Hugh Murray
NGOs As Agents of Subversion: Not Only In Israel, But Egypt And The Caucasus As Well
By Patrick J. Buchanan on March 23, 2015, 6:08 pm
See, earlier, Are Freedom House And The National Democratic Institute Really “Our Innocents Abroad”?
Though “Bibi” Netanyahu won re-election last week, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations will still look into whether the State Department financed a clandestine effort to defeat him.
Reportedly, State funneled $350,000 to an American NGO called OneVoice, which has an Israeli subsidiary, Victory 15, that collaborated with U.S. operatives to bring Bibi down.
If we are now secretly pumping cash into the free elections of friendly countries, to dump leaders President Obama dislikes, Americans have a right to know why we are using Cold War tacticsagainst democracies.
After World War II, my late colleague on CNN’s “Crossfire,” Tom Braden, delivered CIA cash to democratic parties in Europe imperiled by communist parties financed from Moscow.
But that was done to combat Stalinism when Western survival was at stake in a Cold War that ended in 1991.
Hopefully, after looking into OneVoice and V15, the Senate will expand its investigation into a larger question: Is the U.S. using NGOs to subvert regimes around the world? And, if so, who decides which regimes may be subverted?
What gives these questions urgency is the current crisis that has Moscow moving missiles toward Europe and sending submarines and bombers to probe NATO defenses.
America contends that Vladimir Putin’s annexation of Crimea and backing for pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine is the cause of the gathering storm in Russian-NATO relations.
Yet Putin’s actions in Ukraine were not taken until the overthrow of a democratically elected pro-Russian regime in Kiev, in a coup d’etat in which, Moscow contends, an American hand was clearly visible.
Not only was John McCain in Kiev’s Maidan Square egging on the crowds that drove the regime from power, so, too, was U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland.
In an intercepted phone call with our ambassador in Kiev, Nuland identified the man we preferred when President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted. “Yats,” she called him. And when Yanukovych fled after the Maidan massacre, sure enough, Arseniy Yatsenyuk was in power.
Nuland also revealed that the U.S. had spent $5 billion since 1991 to bring about the reorientation of Ukraine toward the West.
Now, bringing Ukraine into the EU and NATO may appear to Nuland & Co. a great leap forward for freedom and progress.
But to Russia it looks like the subversion of a Slavic nation with which she has had intimate ties for centuries, to bring Ukraine into an economic union and military alliance directed against Moscow.
And if NATO stumbles into a military clash with Russia, the roots of that conflict will be traceable to the coup in Kiev that Russians believe was the dirty work of the Americans.
If the U.S. had a role in that coup, the American people should know it and the Senate should find out whether Nuland & Co. used NGOs to reignite a Cold War that Ronald Reagan brought to an end.
And if we are now using NGOs as fronts for secret operations to dump over regimes, we are putting all NGOs abroad under suspicion and at risk.
Not in our lifetimes has America been more distrusted and disliked. And among the reasons is that we are seen as constantly carpingat governments that do not measure up to our standards of democracy, and endlessly interfering in the internal affairs of nations that do not threaten us.
In this new era, U.S. foreign policy elites have boasted of the “color-coded” revolutions they helped to foment in Belgrade, Kiev, Tbilisi. In 2003, we helped to overthrow the Georgian regime of Eduard Shevardnadze in a “Rose Revolution” that brought to power Mikheil Saakashvili. And Saakashvili nearly dragged us into a confrontation with Russia in 2008, when he invaded South Ossetiaand killed Russian peacekeepers.
What vital interest of ours was there in that little nation in the Caucasus, the birthplace of Stalin, to justify so great a risk?
Nor is it Moscow alone that is angered over U.S. interference in its internal affairs and those of its neighbor nations.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt has expelled members of U.S. NGOs. Beijing believes U.S. NGOs were behind the Occupy-Wall-Street-style street blockages in Hong Kong.
If true, these U.S. actions raise a fundamental question:
What is the preeminent goal of U.S. foreign policy?
Is it to protect the vital interests and national security of the Republic? Or do we believe with George W. Bush that, “The survival of liberty” in America “depends on the success of liberty in other lands.”
If it is the latter, then our mission is utopian–and unending.
For if we believe our liberty is insecure until the whole world is democratic, then we cannot rest until we witness the overthrow of the existing regimes in Russia, China, North Korea, Vietnam, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Belarus, most of the Arab and African nations, as well as Venezuela and Cuba.
And if that is our goal, our Republic will die trying to achieve it.

Ann Coulter on the IRS Scandal
I took this from frontpage.com. An excellent article. Hugh Murray
Tips for Right-Wingers on the IRS Scandal
Instead
of showing endless loops of IRS employees wasting taxpayer dollars
line-dancing — Breaking news: Government employees waste millions of
your dollars every single day! — I think it would be more useful for the
public to hear a few crucial facts about the exploding scandal at the
Internal Revenue Service.
At
Tuesday’s congressional hearings on the IRS, witnesses provided
shocking details about the agency’s abuse of conservative groups.
The
IRS leaked the donor list of The National Organization for Marriage to
their political opponents, the pro-gay-marriage Human Rights Campaign.
This is not idle speculation: The documents had an internal IRS stamp on
them. The list of names was then published on a number of liberal
websites and NOM’s donors were harassed.
The
IRS demanded that all members of the Coalition for Life of Iowa swear
under penalty of perjury that they wouldn’t pray, picket or protest
outside of Planned Parenthood. They were also asked to provide details
of their prayer meetings.
Rep.
Jim McDermott, D-Wash. — who was ordered by the D.C. Circuit Court to
pay more than $1 million to John Boehner in 2008 for the sleazy maneuver
of publishing an illegally taped private conversation — blamed the
conservative groups themselves. “Each of your groups was highly
political,” he lectured them, noting that they wouldn’t have been asked
any questions if they hadn’t requested tax-exempt status.
Even
a fair-minded person — not to be confused with Jim McDermott — might
hear about the IRS’ harassment of groups with “tea party,” “patriot” or
“liberty” in their names and think: “How do we know the IRS wasn’t
equally hard on left-wing groups?”
What
might be more helpful than clips of IRS staff line-dancing would be for
reporters, say at Fox News, to mention a few examples of the wildly
partisan left-wing groups that the IRS has certified as tax-exempt.
Among the many left-wing groups with tax-exempt status are:
–
ACORN (now renamed as other organizations, but all still tax-exempt),
“community organizers” who engage in profanity-laced protests at private
homes, dump garbage in front of public buildings and disrupt bankers’
dinners in order to get more people on welfare in order to destroy the
capitalist system and incite revolution;
–
Occupy Wall Street, which — in its first month alone — was responsible
for more than a dozen sexual assaults; at least half a dozen deaths by
overdose, suicide or murder; and millions of dollars in property damage;
– Media Matters for America, a media “watchdog” group that has never noticed one iota of pro-Obama bias in the media;
– Moveon.org, which ran ads comparing Bush to Hitler under its 501(c)(4) arm;
–
The Center for American Progress, an auxiliary of the Democratic
National Committee funded by George Soros and staffed by former Clinton
and Obama aides to promote the Democratic agenda;
– The Tides Foundation, which funnels money to communist and terrorist-supporting organizations;
– The Ford Foundation, which has never found a criminal law that isn’t “racist.”
These
groups are regarded by the IRS as nonpartisan community groups, merely
educational, while dozens of patriotic, constitutional, Christian or tea
party groups are still waiting for their tax exemptions.
That’s
to say nothing of Planned Parenthood, PBS and innumerable other
Democratic front-groups that not only have tax exemptions, but get
direct funding from the government.
By
contrast, the conservative groups being raked over the coals by the IRS
actually were nonpartisan. The tea party forced sitting Republican
senators off the ticket in Alaska and Indiana, and toppled
“establishment” Republicans in Utah, Delaware, Nevada, Florida and
Texas. Far from being a secretly pro-Republican group, the tea party has
been a nightmare for Republicans.
Show me one instance where the Center for American Progress was more of a problem for Democrats than Republicans.
It
is obviously in the interest of the left to show us liberal groups also
harassed by the IRS, so it’s striking that they haven’t been able to
produce one yet.
Instead,
they hearken back to the Bush years to claim that the IRS once audited
the NAACP, which is treated as ipso facto political harassment.
First
of all, the NAACP doesn’t exactly have a sterling record of rectitude
when it comes to organization funds. In the 1990s, the NAACP used
tax-exempt contributions to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars of hush
money to the mistress of then-executive director Benjamin F. Chavis Jr.
— as detailed in enraged columns by Carl Rowan at the time.
Find
a tea party organization that’s done that, and we’ll understand the IRS
conducting a three-year proctology exam on the group.
Second,
the Bush-era audit of the NAACP was prompted by a blindingly partisan
speech given by NAACP chairman Julian Bond at an organization meeting in
Philadelphia in July 2004. Bond attacked a slew of elected Republicans
by name, denouncing the entire party as one whose “idea of equal rights
is the American flag and Confederate swastika flying side by side.”
That’s
what we call “black-letter law” on improper activity for a tax-exempt
organization. As a 501(c)(3) group, the NAACP is prohibited from
supporting or opposing any candidate for elective office.
The
NAACP responded to the IRS’ letter by screaming from the rooftops that
it was political payback. Consequently, Bush’s IRS commissioner
requested that Treasury’s inspector general investigate the IRS’
tax-exempt unit for political bias. The IG’s report found no politics in
the NAACP audit and — to the contrary — that more “pro-Republican”
groups (18) than “pro-Democratic” groups (12) had been audited.
Nonetheless,
the NAACP simply refused to cooperate with the IRS. There was nothing
the Bush administration could do. No Republican was going to allow the
NAACP’s tax-exempt status to be revoked on its watch. Two years later,
the IRS simply issued a letter clearing the group.
Today,
the NAACP openly engages in partisan activity, such as a current
weeks-long protest of Republican legislators in North Carolina.
Finally,
a tip to the Democrats trying to defend the IRS: As a devoted
true-crime TV viewer, I can tell you that when you’re caught red-handed,
it’s never a good defense to say, “Why would I be so stupid to kill my
wife right after taking out a huge life insurance policy on her?”
You were that stupid and you got caught.

Whitewashing History: Jews of Hungary
A Jewish renaissance, tucked away in a Budapest apartment
Budapest's Teleki Square synagogue has survived two World Wars, the rise of the 'anti-Zionist' Jobbik party, and rotting fixtures – and is now part of a resurgent Jewish community....
By Andrew Connelly, Helene Bienvenu My comment below:
Strange, the article mentions nothing of the time when Jews ruled Hungary. Following WWI Communists, under Bela Kun, who was Jewish, came to power. Almost all the leaders of this revolutionary government were also Jews. They hoped to link with the armies of the Bolsheviki, but the Reds of the east were pushed back, and Kun's Communist overthrown. Perhaps, one reason for Horthy's anti-Jewish laws was the connection between Jews and Communism.
Again, after WWII many in the Hungarian Communist secret police were Jews. So much so that during the 1956 uprising against the Communists, commentators on the Left like Herbert Aptheker, and on the Right like David Irving considered it to be a revolt against the Jews.
This history should be considered when discussing the history of Hungary and Jews.
(I rarely comment to respond to others, but this time I did. In 2 of my responses, I urged people to read an article from a Jewish academic journal, and my "Affirmative Action and the Nazis." In both of my responses, a word was changed. In both, the word "Nazis" became "#$%$." So now, for the politically correct, are there 2 "n" words? Too words so horrible we may not utter or write them? Ah, free speech!!)

Clearly not all Hungarian Jews were killed during WWII. George Soros, the millionaire Left winger who subsidizes many front groups in the US, is one example.
I do not say that all Jews joined the Hungarian Communist secret police, but surely they were a much larger percentage of the police-state apparatus than non Jews. In the US a Hungarian Communist publishing house issued a book maintaining that the 1956 uprising was simply anti-Semitic.

Rakosi was born Jewish but publicly repudiated his religion. Bela Kun had a Jewish father and a Christian mother but was brought up Christian and educated at a Christian school. Whether or not any person has some Jewish ethnicity in his lineage is hardly a valid excuse for anti-semitism.

Soros has made quite a few antisemitic remarks. He does not consider himself to be a Jew.
